We’ve all seen it. You’ve most likely done it yourself. I just did it a few minutes ago. You see something on facebook and you “like” it. The problem is our faith hasn’t caught up to our technology yet so you see people “liking” things that God doesn’t like. You see unwed mothers posting pics of their ultrasound and talking about the baby and people “like” it. You see a picture of someone acting stupid…because they’re drunk and you “like” it. Someone curses in a post, but it’s a funny status update so you “like” it. 2nd John 1.10 says, “If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truh about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.” I’m definitely encouraging someone if I “like” their post, but if their post is something that God hates then I’ve become a “partner in their evil work.”
Facebook is going to force us to take a look at our morality choices. The faith of my generation will be more public than ANY generation in the past. In the past every opinion or thought that popped into your head wasn’t recorded. That’s a luxery that is in the past. Make sure you’re not encouraging something that God doesn’t like as you spend time on facebook…or in life.
