Saturday Reading

January 11, 2014 by Chris French

This week’s links are super packed for your enjoyment!

This first post is actually a series of five short posts on overcoming personal sin. It’s a step by step process that will allow you to conquer whatever sin you’re dealing with. You’ll see a lot of links from 411 Ministry because pretty much everything Rusty writes is insightful and helpful. I think you’ll really benefit from these posts on Overcoming Personal Sin

I’ve seen this post running around facebook this week so you might have already read it, but if you haven’t you should. God will give you more than you can handle: I guarantee it gives credence to what you probably already know. This idea isn’t Biblical! Check out the article to see what I mean.

If you’re looking for a new translation of the Bible and want some help Get to Know Your Bible Translations probably won’t help you, but you might enjoy the comic book feel. If you already know a little bit about Bible translations it’s pretty funny.

How Not to Make Disciples is a 2 minute video I think we should all watch every day. Francis Chan shows how ridiculous some of our ploys are. If we do this we won’t make disciples, we’ll turn people away from Jesus.

Have you ever tried to “find yourself” or “be true to yourself”? Are these Biblical ideas? See for yourself in Finding Yourself and Losing Your Salvation.

Great post Daniel! We all need to wake up and see that He hasn’t called us to be the best rendition of ourselves, but to be the image of His Son. Thanks for the reminder!
