I don’t really have much of a story, since I grew up in the church. I became a Christian at about 13 when I really understood that I needed my sins forgiven and I wanted to dedicate my life to Christ, but those were things that I grew up knowing and always expected to do at some point.
The more inspiring story is how my parents raised three kids to be faithful Christians. I’m still learning about their story as I grow older, but basically, they taught by word and by example, by loving God and always putting Him first, by always being faithful to each other, by teaching us God’s word, by showing us how a family should function according to God’s structure, by treating others as God would want, and by dedicating their time and energy to the church and to our family.
They weren’t perfect, any more than anyone is perfect, but they’ve instilled the principles of Christianity and a love for God in us since we were infants, and they continue to be sources of wisdom and inspiration. I am so grateful to them and to God, and hope that one day I can be a great mom like mine.
